Unboxing - Backdoor 101

So we're going to approach this particular unboxing with some education to start. Just like engaging in anal sex for the first time - we gotta ease into it.

I had some hesitation in broadcasting this unboxing - not because I am in any way ashamed of my sex life; this topic is not taboo to me personally. But because of the stigma and many misconceptions revolving around anal sex. Plus, there are some damn judgey assholes out there, many of which I know personally ;)

Having said that, when this box was first released, it sold out quicker than any other box in TFB history. I think that says a lot about where our heads are at with accepting this type of play for ourselves, we just aren't talking about it enough in the wider conversations surrounding sex and sex education.

First of all, anal sex is sex. It is a part of an overall sexual experience for many, many people and doesn't fall into any separate category. However, I understand the hesitation to try it and confusion surrounding it - so let's bust some myths.

1. Anal sex is for gay men only.

Wrong. Anal play can be enjoyed by anybody of any gender, and any orientation. What you find pleasurable in sex does not determine your sexual orientation (and vice versa) whether you are giving or receiving.

2. It hurts.

It can, but it shouldn't. Pain can happen if anal sex is approached without preparation. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience in the past, and that can really turn you off ever trying it again! I think it's worth noting now that what we see in porn is not how we approach anal sex in real life. Sure, we love porn - but the reality is there is a whole lot of preparation that goes into shooting those scenes. Don't try and replicate what you've seen on PornHub straight off the bat, because you're probably gonna hurt someone. Slow and steady first.

3. Women don't like it, but do it anyway for their partner.

Fucking lies. To understand why anal penetration can feel good for a woman, you need to understand the clitoris. What you see between the outer labia is not the beginning and the end of the clit - the nerves branch out into the vaginal canal (what we call the G-Spot), and for some, into the anus. So via penetration, you are indirectly stimulating the clitoris. Here are some more clit facts for further info.

There's also the excitement of acting out a "taboo" fantasy that can cause people with vaginas to orgasm from anal sex. The mind is a very powerful tool when it comes to sex in general.

Assuming women are only engaging in anything other than vaginal sex to please their partner is taking sexual agency and empowerment away from them.

4. It's messy.

It really isn't, but I know this is a major concern for so many people. The fear of embarrassment can make people very hesitant to even try any form of anal play.

You should know if you do or don't need to go to the bathroom. If you don't, then you're good to go. If you do, then go before hand. At the very minimum for hygiene matters, take a shower beforehand. This can be part of your preparation, and taking a shower can help you feel more relaxed overall. And if you want to go that one step further, use an enema or anal douche. That isn't 100% necessary but people often find that it eases their mind, and if removing the worry about cleanliness completely will help you relax then I say go for it.

So those are just the few topics that come up in conversation with just about everybody who asks me about butt stuff. The Backdoor 101 cards that come with the box have a heap more tips to help you get started, as well as products that will ensure a positive experience.

As the name Backdoor 101 suggests, this is a beginners guide to anal sex. It's perfect for those who have been wanting to try it out but haven't, or those who have had less than ideal experiences in the past, but want to give it another shot.

Whats in the box? The Platinum version includes:

- Training plugs

- Anal lube

- Anal douche

- Lube shooter

- Antibacterial toy cleaner

- Crotchless teddy (I opted for crotchless panties instead)

- Briefs

- Jeweled plug set

This is one of those boxes where I don't think it matters which tier you opt for. The experience will be the same - but the Rianne S jeweled plug set are just so damn pretty and make me feel so sexy that I can't imagine not having them. Already having a fairly awesome arsenal (lol) of butt toys, we actually owned these before we got the whole box because I couldn't not. The set includes three plugs in three different sizes; 3.7 inches, 3.2 inches, and 2.8 inches at their widest. They can be used as a build up to anal sex, or worn as a booty plug throughout the course of vaginal sex (which feels amazing).

The Jolie training plugs are the perfect starters kit for getting used to the sense of penetration and fullness. They are by far the softest and most comfortable plugs I've tried as they are pretty squishy and flexible. The smallest one is really small - so be careful and make sure your partner is paying attention to holding onto the ring. You run the risk of that one slipping all the way in - which would mean stopping to fish it out and most likely ruin the mood. So yeah - be careful.

The ID Backslide anal formula is definitely the best lube for anal penetration that I've tried. It's silicone based but for some reason seemed to outperform any other silicone lube we've tried. Usually R finds silicones to be desensitizing but didn't find that to be the case. It also includes a natural muscle relaxant (from clove extract and spilanthes extract) and it works without being numbing. On the note of numbing creams and formulas, if you're thinking of going down that path, I suggest not going there - you want to feel what's going on so you can properly gauge your comfort throughout the process. You could too easily hurt yourself without realizing, and that doesn't make for a positive experience.

You guys know that I totally love the CG brand, so of course the CG toy cleaner that's included is my favorite of all of them. Nothing else much to say here than, it does the job and you'll be happy to own it.

Ahh yes, the lube shooter. I had never used one of these before and I was verrrry intrigued to see how it would make a difference to the amount of lube that sometimes ends up everywhere. These work by loading up the shooter with lube (like drawing a syringe) and then inserting and squirting. It makes sense to use these because the anal canal does not self lubricate. Lube is 100% essential in any anal penetration. The lube shooter definitely did help and we found that we used less lube overall and didn't have to reapply as often.

I quickly mentioned in the above facts that some people like to use a water enema to put their mind at ease. There's one included in the box, and I personally love to use it from time to time. Again, it's not necessary, and is totally up to you whether you want to take that step in preparation or not. Just make sure you use water only - no soap.

As for the lingerie, I already had the pretty crotchless teddy from the Platinum box, which I forgot I gave to a friend.... as you do. So I opted for crotchless panties instead which I am soooo in love with and are totally comfortable enough to wear as regular panties if you feel like it. If you order the Platinum, you'll get the upgraded lingerie, which I believe at the moment is a sexy hot pink teddy ;)

Sorry for this terrible pic - LOL

So that's it for everything that comes in the box. This will sound corny, but the most important thing you need is your mindset and the want to do it. You are not going to have a great time if you're not relaxed, or if you're being pressured into doing something you're not comfortable with. The choice to explore anal play has to be desired by all people involved equally. And if you do decide you're ready to give it a go - then I absolutely recommend the Backdoor 101 box to assist in a positive and sensual experience. The cards have much more information on how to go about the experience, but if you want to reach out to us, please don't hesitate to email us with any questions.
