Unboxing - Tear Away (+ How We Met)!

Updated: Jul 2, 2019

Hey guys! So this month we unboxed the Platinum Tear Away on our 'dateaversary' which is April 19. My husband and I first 'met' in late January 2016 when he was bartending in Los Angeles, and I was out there for work. The moment I saw him I was so beyond attracted to him that I couldn't bring myself to order drinks from him at the bar and sent my Mum up there each time instead ha ha.

On the last night, Mum forced me to go up and order the drinks and he served me. I was so shy and nervous when he started talking to me, I went bright red and couldn't wait to get away from him... #adult. I blame it on the crazy chemistry.

I thought about him the entire 10 days I was there and by the time I got back to Melbourne I decided to do the totally normal thing and stalk him on Instagram. The problem was, I didn't even know his name, so it took a couple of hours for me to find him and add him. But find him I did, and we got chatting. We quickly came to find that we had absolutely everything in common (except he hates onions and I do not hate onions) and a few months later on April 19, I was back on a plane to Los Angeles to go on our first official date :)

He is by far the best man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and in our three years together it feels like we have had a lifetime of adventures. I'm going to start referring to him as 'R', so I don't have to keep writing husband/hubby. Okay, on to the fun things!

The Tear Away box was originally only available within the subscription, but so much positive feedback was sent in (along with requests to re-purchase the mesh dress) that it is now available through the web-store.

This box falls under the 'Control' category which is something R and I are not new to. The Control dynamic means you'll receive scenarios that involve varying degrees of BDSM. I would personally classify the Tear Away fantasy as 'light', but it's not TFB's bondage beginners box (that would be the Grey Area fantasy which I am happy to review if anyone specifically asks).

Inside the Platinum tier you get a mesh dress, Kama Sutra arousal gel, door cuffs and the Jimmyjane Form 2 vibe. The Classic tier gets the same dress and cuffs, a different arousal gel and a bullet vibe. It also comes in the Essentials tier which includes the dress, gel and door cuffs. All include the fantasy cards.

R decided to use a blindfold on me as well for extra fun - which I very much recommend :)

I didn't manage to get a picture of the mesh dress until after it had been torn up - but it's completely see-through so I wouldn't have posted pictures of me wearing it anyway :P. This isn't a piece of lingerie that you should get excited about in terms of adding it to your collection. It's meant to be slowly torn or cut off strand by strand while you're cuffed to the door, so is good for only one use. And some would argue that's more exciting anyway!

RIP.

The door-cuffs are some of the easiest to use bondage items you will own. They're compatible with any hinged door and the cuffs are velcro, so are extremely easy to set up and get in and out of. We now have a pretty decent sized restraints collection and these take up next to no space in the storage box too.

Simple

The Kama Sutra warming gel is to apply directly to the clit. I know a few people are hesitant to buy warming gels and assume they will burn rather than warm, but this certainly doesn't burn at all. It has a very gentle warming feeling straight upon application and is a nice tease before the main event. It's also latex safe, dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, and stain free.

After being so obsessed with the JeJoue Mimi lately, I was super excited about trying the award winning Jimmyjane Form 2.... This palm sized clit vibe is designed so that you can use it in several different ways. Rather than me explaining its varied uses, I'm going to post a diagram directly off their website below:

I haven't tried all of these techniques yet, but as a stand alone vibrator and being tied up while R used it on me - it was a massive hit. I may have to do a whole separate post on how I rate the suggested techniques?

This vibe alone costs $149 from the Jimmyjane website - so the $10 extra to buy the Platinum Tear Away box is MORE than worth it - especially if this is an area you've been recently experimenting with and are wanting to delve further into.
