Here it is, our first Unboxing! This will be less of a review, and more of a look-in at the contents and subjects of the beautiful boxes from The Fantasy Box.
First I must start with a disclosure: This is the company my husband and I work for. All of the box contents and fantasies are put together and written by the owner, Mariah Byrne. There is so much heart and passion behind what goes into creating these boxes, and we love everything the company stands for. And while it would be easy to assume that we would be biased, we are also a real couple who are experiencing these boxes in the same way anybody else would. As all of our subscribers can, we will be choosing the boxes that interest us, and every month we will "unbox" one for people to get a closer look - but we will also be playing out the fantasies, using the toys, and wearing the lingerie in a genuine way so that we can give a real opinion for those who want to know more. Expect to see boxes from all categories here (Playful, Sensual, Costume and Control) - as we truly do have an explorative and varied sex life. Okay, onto the unboxing!
As I mentioned the other day - we decided the best place to start would be with the Intro Box from the Platinum tier (this is the highest tier, the other two are Essentials and Classic). This is the first box that all subscribers receive, so it made sense for us to go through that same process. There is a good reason why this is the only box that can't be skipped, and it's because it engages couples in the "getting to know you" scenario. It doesn't matter how long a couple has been together for, some people find it really hard to express their sexual desires to their partners. This is usually because of the fear of judgement, embarrassment, or rejection. The quizzes provided do all the work for you, and it usually ends up being one of the best parts of the Intro experience. My husband and I are extremely communicative when it comes to our likes and dislikes, but we still learned a thing or two - more in a romantic sense than a sexual one.
Also included are the Leader and Follower cards - I don't want to give away exactly what's written on these cards, but the idea is that you will each decide what role to take (which of course can be switched up every time you revisit it).
The contents of the Platinum box include lingerie, thigh highs, Sliquid lube, blindfold, a massage candle and the Mimi vibrator from JeJoue (!).
The Sliquid Organic Natural lube is my forever go-to. It lives on the side table next to the bed and goes in the A-Team box of toys. It's aloe vera based, water soluble, made up of 95% organic ingredients, vegan friendly, not tested on animals, glycerin/paraben/petroleum free, latex/rubber/plastic friendly for your toys, doesn't stain, unflavoured, unscented, and pH balanced neutral - so pretty much your perfect no fuss lube. I love the consistency as it's neither too thick or too thin, and it's my husbands favourite too as he really doesn't like thick lubes, so we very rarely stray from using this unless its for any kind of anal play.
The mask is provided as part of the fantasy for the leader to give to the follower to wear. What follows is an exercise in trust and sensory exploration - and testing boundaries if that is what you care to do. This is something we already regularly engage in, but it plays out differently every time.
For those who are new to any sort of "follower and leader" dynamic - there is an important note on the bottom of the Follower card reminding you to take care of yourself first if it becomes overwhelming. Fully surrendering while being blindfolded can understandably be daunting for some people, and I suggest coming up with a safeword prior if you don't already have one. Practice using it and make sure to communicate with your partner.
The massage candle from Lelo is part of the sensory fun - these candles are designed to be melted and dripped onto the skin (with the flame blown out, of course). This candle is snow pear and cedarwood scented, so will appeal to those who don't like anything overly sweet. I am a huge fan of massage candles in general, and so far my experience with them has been positive. I'm yet to come across one that feels in any way waxy, and this is because the formulas are made up of soy and other natural plant oils. This one in particular contains soy, shea butter and apricot oil - so super moisturizing for the skin!
The lingerie is a chemise from one of my favouirite brands - Seven 'Til Midnight. I've never really strayed from black, red and sometimes pink for my lingerie collection so this is my first blue piece - and I'm in loooove with it! The quality is absolutely amazing, it feels great on and the lace detailing is gorgeous. The back of it is super sexy too. I will definitely be wearing this frequently! And the Coquette thigh highs are included as the chemise also has detachable garter straps - so it's totally up to you whether you want to wear them or not :)
Okay I know a lot of you probably skimmed over most of this to get to information on the vibe - haha. Fair enough! And holy shiiiiit I love this vibe. I'm not kidding, I send out hundreds of these things every week and had never bothered to try it out. I don't know why - but maybe seeing boxes and boxes of them every day made it less intriguing. But it has quickly become my second favourite toy (because, Womanizer), which actually means it's my favourite vibrator.
